European Charter for Sustainable Tourism

Trento
3 Ottobre 2016

The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism is a certification instrument for participatory planning, by which local actors undertake to work towards sustainable tourism, implementing an action plan to further develop it.
The Charter concerns an area pertaining to the municipalities of the Network of Bondone Nature Reserves, that is to say, the municipalities of Cimone, Garniga Terme, Villa Lagarina, and Vallelaghi, and part of the municipality of Trento.
A core element of the Charter is the work in partnership with all actors that wish to develop a common tourism strategy and an action plan, based on a thorough analysis of the local situation. Its purpose is to protect the natural and cultural heritage and to constantly improve tourism management in the protected areas, preserving the environment, the local population, businesses and visitors.
