Atlas of Reptiles and Amphibians

The ongoing data collection for the creation of the new Atlas of Reptiles and Amphibians is carried out by the Vertebrate Zoology Section of MUSE - Trento's Museum of Science.

The aim is to update the list and the distribution of amphibian and reptile species that live in the province of Trento, after almost twenty years from the publication of the last PDF Atlas ITA (for further information visit this website).

Results, based on three years of data collection (2017-2020), will form the base for evaluating the state of conservation of these species at a local level and will contribute to the new Italian Atlas of Reptiles and Amphibian edited by Societas Herpetologica Italica (SHI) and to the information update of Natura 2000 Network's sites in Trentino.
The extension of the investigated area and the limited time available have stimulated Muse researchers to find a new way to collect data in order to edit this new document: Citizen Science. Everybody will have the opportunity to contribute to the research.
